My
Story
My passion and love for telling stories have led me to where I am today.
My name is Talid Magdi, I’ve spent the last 18 years producing long and short form broadcast, digital, and editorial content spanning entertainment, branded content, content marketing, and news.
I was born in Cairo, lived in Paris, Morocco, Tunisia, Los Angeles, Knoxville, and now Atlanta. I am fluent in English, Arabic, and French which allowed me to immerse myself in so many incredible cultures. The common thread of it all was that I found myself wanting to tell my travel stories, including the people I met on my journeys. As anyone would do, I started blogging about it until I realized…wait a minute, that’s what I’d like to do for a living. I want to tell stories.
I followed my passion, worked in the news for five years as an Online Producer, where I had the pleasure and honor of covering news stories that made national headlines. I won two Edward R. Murrow Awards, in the video news documentary in local and large market categories. During my time with the News Sentinel, I got to tell the stories of musicians, politicians, chefs, and everyday people for a living.
I transitioned to TV production, working with Rivr Media where I co-produced and wrote Long and shot form shows for HGTV. I also worked with advertisers on in-show product integration, produced and edited on-air and digital branded content short-form videos and that's where my love for brand-driven storytelling began.
Following Rivr Media, I started working for Scripps Networks/Discovery Communications for 8 years, as a Producer, then Executive Producer. During my time there, I was able to combine my love for storytelling, food, travel, and interior design to help advertisers and brands reach our HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel audiences. I produced, wrote and directed over 100 on-air, digital and social branded content videos annually, for clients spanning startups to Fortune 500's.
After Discovery Communications, I joined CNN International where I produced, wrote and oversaw business and travel content out of Africa and Europe. I also got to be a part of shedding some light on the many issues that the world faced during the pandemic.
I believe that establishing a connection through authentic, genuine and clever storytelling is the reason why customers buy a certain brand, tune-in to watch a tv show or the news, and It’s our duty as storytellers to make that connection. I feel very lucky to have been able to do that throughout my career.
